According to the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP), the software outsourcing sector is one of the top growth contributors to the Information Technology – Philippine Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO) industry.

“The Philippine software industry is positioned competitively in the global market,” BPAP president and CEO , Benedict Hernandez, said. “In 2011, the software industry grew 37% and earned US$993 million in revenues. It also grew its workforce by almost 50,000 full-time employees. These gains clearly demonstrate the potential of the Philippine software industry in an environment in which demand for these value-added services is increasing exponentially.”

The software outsourcing industry is expecting to generate $1.5 billion in revenues next year and employ more workers as market demand increases.

“We hope to sustain our momentum. By 2013, PSIA aims to achieve revenue of $1.5 billion and increase employment… to about 80,000 employees,” Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) President Nora Terrado said in a statement.

According to a recent report by international consulting firm, Everest Group, the Philippines is already “a m

ature global location for software services, joining the ranks of China, Brazil, India and Poland.”

The IT software outsourcing sector will be one of the key topics in the upcoming Fourth International Outsourcing Summit (IOS 2012). With a theme of “A new vision for growth and sustainability,” the software session will feature highly respected and influential industry speakers.
