OUTSOURCING: NOT A BEST KEPT SECRET ANYMORE

On July 7, 2011, in Outsourcing, by Business Development Group

Secretary shhhThe birth of outsourcing was a dream come true for entrepreneurs all over the world.  Imagine having the ability to tap into the world’s brightest minds through the web.  Suddenly it was not a feat to recruit an Indian Yoga Instructor for your e-magazine, a French chef for menu planning of your catering business, a Filipino doctor for your medical coding needs.  The possibilities had become endless.

The availability of outsourcing was formerly only available to Fortune 500 companies.  It was their best-kept secret, which allowed them to grow their bottom lines.  The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman was revolutionary as it allowed the entire world to see what these companies were doing.  The big boys were doing this… could I, a small to medium business owner, do it as well?  Enter the Four-hour work week by  Tim Ferris.  Here he made outsourcing an easy feat to do.  The premise of having so much more time to do and concentrate on specific aspects of the business and let other people who have the expertise handle all the other administrative work.  The book broke through the boundary of who can do outsourcing.  Everyone could do it.  It was no rocket science any longer..

However, you still ask yourself, do I have what it takes to outsource portions of my business to a business so far away. It was for this reason why I opted to give you a guide on knowing whether you are capable of outsourcing.  In a way, it is my way of taking the SOUR out of outsourcing.
